Frequently Asked Questions
What kind of DXF files work best?
The viewer works best with simple 2D DXF files containing common entities such as LINE, LWPOLYLINE, POLYLINE, CIRCLE and ARC.
Does this support every AutoCAD DXF feature?
No. The DXF tools focus on common 2D entities such as lines, polylines, circles and arcs. Complex CAD features like 3D geometry, external references, advanced hatches, custom fonts or very complex blocks may not render perfectly.
Can this open DWG files?
No. DWG is a different binary CAD format. This tool is for DXF files, which are easier to parse directly in the browser.
Can I use this for laser cutting or CNC files?
Yes, if the DXF contains clean 2D paths. The preview can help you check whether the outlines, scale and orientation look correct before using the file in another workflow.
Are my files uploaded to a server?
No. The file is parsed, previewed and converted locally in your browser. Your plotter, HPGL, HPGL/2, DXF or SVG file is not uploaded.
